The Meris Ottobit X is a full stereo modular degradation and texture engine built around vintage ’80s lo-fi character, advanced digital processing and a premium analogue signal path. Expanding on the spirit of the original Ottobit Jr. and Ottobit Sr., Ottobit X moves deeper into bitcrushed textures, VHS-style ambience, glitch performance effects and expressive sound design.

At its core, Ottobit X gives you detailed control over sample rate and bit depth, letting you move from clean digital clarity into broken, crushed, game-like artefacts and heavily degraded textures. The Sample Rate control ranges from 48 Hz to 48 kHz, while the Bits control ranges from 1 bit to 24 bits, giving you everything from subtle digital edge to extreme lo-fi destruction.

Ottobit X goes far beyond a standard bitcrusher. It includes six glitch types, three filter types, VHS Delay, VHS Reverb, five pitch modes, five modulation types and four preamp colours, allowing you to build complete sound worlds from one pedal. Whether you want warped tape movement, vinyl-style scratching, frozen grains, pitch-shifted artefacts or full stereo cinematic decay, Ottobit X is designed for players who want texture as much as tone.

The interface is built around Meris’ colour screen workflow, adapted from LVX and MercuryX, with 99 preset locations across 33 banks, 18 artist presets and a favourite preset bank for quick access to your three go-to sounds. It also includes MIDI, expression control, stereo inputs and outputs, switchable instrument or line/synth level operation, and selectable true bypass or analogue buffered bypass.

Designed and built in California, Ottobit X is a powerful creative workstation for guitar, synth, studio processing and experimental performance. From nostalgic arcade textures to aggressive glitch sequencing, VHS ambience and beautifully broken stereo modulation, this is one of Meris’ most distinctive sound-design pedals to date.
