Studio19 Rentals at Gsus4
Get the gear now, pay monthly, then keep renting, return it after your minimum period or apply to buy it.
The short version
A more flexible way to put new gear to work
Found the right guitar, modeller, interface or PA speaker, but do not want to drop the full purchase price at once? Studio19 lets approved customers rent eligible gear from Gsus4 for a monthly payment.
Once the agreement is approved and the gear is supplied, it is yours to use for the rental. You can apply to buy it whenever you like—Studio19 says even after one day—or return it after the minimum rental period selected in your agreement. If neither of those suits yet, you can continue renting for up to 36 months.
The useful part is the room to change your mind. The honest part is that renting generally costs more than buying outright when you already know the gear is a long-term keeper. Before applying, compare the real monthly schedule and possible buy price with the cash price, then decide what that flexibility is worth to you.

How Studio19 Rentals works at Gsus4
The product comes from Gsus4. The rental agreement, approval and monthly payments sit with Studio19.
Your rental in five moves
01 • Choose
Find the gear
Start with a current Gsus4 product and confirm its stock and rental option.
02 • Compare
Check the rate
Review the quote and choose a 6, 12 or 36-month minimum period.
03 • Apply
Go to Studio19
Submit the application online or with the store. Minimum application values apply.
04 • Approve
Read the agreement
Studio19 checks credit and affordability, then provides the payment schedule and terms.
05 • Use
Take it home
Once supplied, use the gear and later keep renting, return it or apply to buy.
Studio19 says in-store applications are usually assessed within an hour and online applications in one to two business days. Those are estimates, not guaranteed approval times. Confirm stock, freight or collection details separately with Gsus4.
Why this little three-way ecosystem works
You
Get the gear with less upfront burden
You use the equipment under the approved rental agreement and keep the option to return or apply to buy.
Studio19
Provides and manages the rental
Studio19 assesses the application, provides and manages the rental agreement, and receives the rental payments.
Gsus4
Supplies the gear
Once the rental starts, Studio19 purchases the equipment from us, so the order is handled much like a normal Gsus4 sale.
New gear for you. Rental business for Studio19. Another sale for an independent music store. Everybody gets something useful from the arrangement—provided the numbers and the agreement make sense for you.
Your options over time
The minimum period only controls when you can return
It does not stop you applying to buy earlier. That distinction is the key to understanding Studio19.
From day one
Apply to buy
Ask Studio19 for the current purchase figure and apply to acquire the equipment. Early ownership is not automatic.
After your minimum
Return the gear
Contact Studio19 first. It can organise pickup or explain how to return the gear to the supplying store.
Up to 36 months
Keep renting
Continue making the scheduled payments. At 36 months, you still do not automatically own the equipment.
What does Studio19 actually cost?
Your product, minimum period and approved agreement determine the rental payment. The headline weekly estimate is useful for comparison, but Studio19 says payments are debited monthly on a set date.
Regular cost
Monthly rental payment
Charged to a debit or credit card on the scheduled date. Weekend or public-holiday dates move to the next business day.
At approval
A$29 administration fee
Studio19 lists this as a once-off charge when the application is approved.
Account fees
No ongoing or yearly account fee
That is Studio19’s current published position. It does not remove the rental payment or other event-based charges.
Missed payment
Possible A$16 fee
Studio19 says to call at least one business day ahead if a payment may fail. If Studio19 is unable to hold the payment, it says an A$16 fee will be added to your account.
Choose the right kind of access
Rental is not the same as buying—or booking PA hire
| Option | Best when | Ownership | Exit or next step |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buy outright from Gsus4 | You know it is a keeper and want the lowest likely long-term cost. | Yours once the purchase is completed. | Gsus4’s normal sales and returns terms apply. |
| Studio19 Rentals | You value lower upfront burden and time to decide. | Not yours unless a separate apply-to-buy transaction is approved and completed. | Return after the selected minimum, keep renting up to 36 months or apply to buy any time. |
| Gsus4 Hire | You need selected PA or event equipment for a night or short booking. | No—this is short-term equipment hire. | Return the hired equipment at the end of the booked period. |
A practical decision
Questions to weigh before choosing a rental
Reasons to compare Studio19
- The equipment can start earning, teaching or gigging before you could comfortably buy it outright.
- You need months of real use to know whether a guitar, modeller or studio upgrade truly fits.
- Keeping more cash available now matters enough to justify the higher overall rental cost.
- You value the option to return after the minimum period and then ask Studio19 about a different setup.
Reasons to compare buying outright
- You already know the exact item is a long-term keeper and can afford it without strain.
- The lowest total cost matters more than flexibility or preserving cash today.
- A recurring monthly debit would make your budget less resilient.
- You expect rental payments alone to create ownership; they do not.
One possible use is gradual rig renewal: rent a high-impact piece, use it through the chosen minimum period, then decide whether it has earned a permanent place. Returning it can reduce the need to buy and resell gear. If you later want different equipment, ask Studio19 what fresh approval or paperwork is required.
The details people ask us
Studio19 Rentals FAQ
Is Studio19 a rent-to-buy plan?
No. Studio19 describes it as a rental agreement with the option to apply to buy. Ownership is never automatic, including after 36 months.
When can I return the gear?
After the minimum rental period selected in your approved agreement. Studio19 says you can then return the rental without hidden fees. Contact its Customer Service team first; they can organise a pickup or explain how to return it to the supplying store. Confirm any transport arrangements and costs before returning it.
Can I buy the rental before the minimum period ends?
You can apply to buy at any time, including from the first day. Ask Studio19 for the current purchase amount and approval process; do not assume the amount equals the cash price minus every rental payment made.
Does Studio19 check my credit?
Yes. Studio19 says every application is subject to a standard credit check and affordability assessment. Approval is not guaranteed, and minimum application values apply.
What happens if the gear needs repair?
Contact Studio19 first. Its FAQ says the team can help organise repairs, but conditions apply and consumables such as guitar strings are excluded. Do not arrange work or assume every repair is free without checking the agreement.
Can temporary visa holders apply?
Studio19 says temporary visa applicants can apply for equipment with a sell price up to A$3,000 on a 6 or 12-month minimum. They need an Australian residential address, an active Australian bank account and a visa that extends beyond the minimum rental period. The 36-month option is not available to temporary visa applicants.
Who should I contact if I have a question?
Ask Gsus4 about product choice, current stock and the order hand-off. Contact Studio19 about the application, agreement, payments, purchase figure, protection plan or return process.
Find the gear first. Then compare the real numbers.
Browse Gsus4, look for the Studio19 rental option on eligible products and ask us if you want help choosing the piece that will make the biggest difference to your rig.
