Leveraging Tech 21’s expertise with uncompromising direct-sound quality, the Marty Friedman SansAmp encompasses Marty’s core sounds in a no-nonsense package that will have you dialing in your favorite tones in minutes, not hours. Three of Marty’s core sounds are preloaded with room for 128 available slots for custom tone shaping. Reverb and Gate controls are also on tap for extra ambience and noise-free performance. Finally, for maximum rig flexibility, the Tech 21 Marty Friedman SansAmp contains an effects loop, MIDI functionality, and 1/4-inch and XLR outputs to use either with a power amp or direct to a mixing console.

Maximum tone, minimum effort

Right out of the box, the Marty Friedman SansAmp contains three of the guitarist’s go-to presets available in Performance mode — clean, crunch, and lead — ready to melt faces the moment you power on. Flip over to Studio mode, and the pedal opens you up to 128 recallable presets that can be customized to your exact preferences. Dialing in your favorite tones is simple with the straightforward Bass, Middle, Treble, and Drive controls that are responsive to the slightest touch — then, use the Filter control to fine-tune the midrange sweep. The Gate control smoothly cleans up your signal and rolls off noise instead of cutting out abruptly. Once you have your three favorite sounds, assign them to the three footswitches, switch back to Performance mode, and you’re ready to put on an awe-inspiring performance. Need to tune up? Diverse routing options

Signal routing versatility often goes overlooked with other preamps or direct boxes, but not with the Marty Friedman SansAmp. The effects loop works similarly to a traditional amplifier, adapting to your time-based effects incredibly well. This makes the pedal an ideal direct-out solution, preserving your signal quality by containing it within your pedalboard before being sent directly to any PA or mixing console via its XLR outputs. Tech 21’s built-in speaker and cab simulation eliminate the worry of having to mic up any amplifier cabinets — they did the heavy lifting for you. If you prefer to use a separate power amp to drive your own favorite speakers, the Marty Friedman SansAmp also handles that like a champ with the 1/4-inch outputs. Both outputs can also be used simultaneously, either as a personal monitor solution with an amp and cab or to place a mic in front of your speaker and blend it with the XLR signal to create a huge wall of sound!
