ProD2™ DI

The Radial ProD2 is a compact stereo direct box developed specifically to address the needs and challenges of interfacing a stereo keyboard to a professional audio system. This passive DI features two independent channels with separate inputs and thru-puts for the artist's stage amp and two fully isolated outputs for the PA system.

At the heart of the design are two high performance Eclipse ET-DB2 transformers. These deliver 20Hz to 20kHz performance with less than 1.5dB deviation above 18kHz and are able to withstand tremendous signal levels without distortion. Unlike active circuits that overload when the signal exceeds the rail voltage, transformers saturate. This creates a pleasing effect that naturally rounds out the tone, acting like a subtle limiter which is particularly advantageous when interfacing the ProD2 with digital pianos, samplers and drum machines that can produce excessive dynamics.

The ProD2 is built tough to handle the rigors of professional touring. A 14-gauge steel ultra rigid i-beam skeleton frame eliminates opportunity from outside stress to flex the sensitive PC board and cause premature solder joint failure. The innovative book-end design creates a protective zone around the connectors and switches further increasing lifespan. And a full bottom no-slip pad adds mechanical isolation and electrical insulation to further reduce opportunity for noise.

ProD2 Applications

ProD2 with Stereo Keyboard

The ProD2 is designed for stereo devices like keyboards. Simple, straight ahead hookup makes it easy to connect your keys to your recording system for great stereo sound!

ProD2 with Instruments

Two Radial ProDI direct boxes in one, multi instrumentalists rejoice! The ProD2 is perfectly well suited for bass, acoustic guitar or just about any instrument with a pickup.

ProD2 with Drums & Samplers

Driving the output from a sampler or electronic drum machine to the PA system has never been easier. The ProD2 delivers plenty of headroom and lets you connect a local DJ mixer too.

ProD2 as a splitter

Take the mono output from your keyboard and patch it into Ch 1, use the THRU on Ch 1 to send a split signal to Ch 2. Voila! Two isolated mic level outputs to send to FOH and Monitors!

Reviews

"Convert a hi-Z unbalanced signal from a guitar, bass or keyboard to a low-Z balanced signal for a PA or DAW for long cable runs that won’t kill your tone along the way."

By Doug Doppler

"My biggest regret is not finding out about Radial Engineering direct boxes sooner! We have transitioned through our move to individual monitor mixes from FOH, to a dedicated monitor console, to personal mixers and the Radial direct boxes have continued to work flawlessly through all of our upgrades."

Alan Parsons

The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Al Stewart, The Alan Parsons Project

"The Alan Parsons Live Project band uses a large number of keyboards, acoustic guitars and computer interfaces all of which require quality passive DIs. Our lives changed when we started carrying our own Radial DIs on the road and have never had a single issue or breakdown. We use the ProDI, ProD2 and the JDI on bass. Our Radial Direct Boxes are rugged, reliable, and sound great - so much better than the competition - in fact there is no competition!"

Jack Douglas

Producer - Aerosmith, John Lennon, The Trews, Supertramp, Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper

"For a clean direct feed, I always use the Radial ProD2 stereo DI. I love that thing! I've done shoot-outs and it always turns out to be the cleanest and fattest sounding."

Eddy Ruyter

Shawn Mendes, Francesco Yates, Ryland James, Spoons

"Whether I'm on tour or in the studio, Radial DIs are always my go-to. The ProD2 by Radial provides me with a pure, clean sound, and is always reliable."

Steve Smith

Drums - Journey, Vital Information, Larry Coryell, Mariah Carey, Jean Luc Ponty

"Pristine audio clarity with silky highs and a punchy low end makes the Radial ProD2 a no-brainer for me when it comes time to choose a DI."
