Ernie Ball Ultra Slinky RPS Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings use a 10–48 gauge combination. RPS strings add brass reinforcement around the lock twist at each plain string’s ball end. This reinforcement is designed to reduce slipping and breakage at that connection, providing additional support during bends and repeated playing.
The wound strings use nickel-plated steel wire around tin-plated hexagonal steel cores. The result combines the balanced response of a nickel-wound set with reinforced plain strings, without changing the selected gauge combination.
