After years of research, engineering, and countless tests, T-Rex has recreated the legendary Binson Echorec, faithfully bringing back the magnetic drum delay that defined the sound of the 1950s and beyond.

Known for its use by David Gilmour, Hank Marvin, and countless studio pioneers, the Echorec isn’t just an effect.

Rediscovering Forgotten Technology

The original Echorec, designed by Professor Bonfiglio Bini in the 1950s, used a rotating magnetic drum instead of tape to record and reproduce sound.
Each unit had its own voice — its own flutter, warmth, and feedback behavior.

At T-Rex, we studied and restored vintage machines for years, then built our own custom alloy drum to perfectly capture that organic response.
The result is a delay that feels alive, distinct, and truly musical.
