A distinctive boutique electric guitar from Solace Instruments New Zealand, built around carefully selected Australasian timbers and hand-crafted details.

The body features a re-purposed New Zealand rimu back paired with a striking Tasmanian Blackwood top with a rimu feature, finished in satin to showcase the natural character of the timber. A hand-crafted Australian Musk pickguard complements the woodwork, while the Southern Cross rear stud pattern adds another uniquely Australasian detail.

The neck is made from tempered Canadian flame maple and paired with an Indian rosewood fretboard. A comfortable Modern C profile, 9.5” radius and 25.5” scale provide a familiar playing feel, while stainless steel medium-jumbo frets offer excellent durability and smooth playability. Kluson tuners complete the hardware package.

At the heart of the guitar is a pair of Mr Glyn ‘Sassy’ P90 pickups, wound in New Zealand. The pickups are presented with nickel surrounds and walnut detailing, complementing the natural aesthetic of the instrument. CTS pots, an Orange Drop capacitor and a three-way blade switch complete the electronics.

At 3.6 kg, this is a substantial yet comfortable instrument combining traditional electric-guitar fundamentals with Solace’s distinctive approach to materials, craftsmanship and design.
