The Shure SLX-D-24D2/S58 is a professional dual handheld wireless system built around the legendary SM58® microphone and rock-solid digital transmission. This H58 band configuration delivers transparent 24-bit audio with greater than 118 dB dynamic range, engineered for gigging musicians, studio engineers and live sound professionals who demand reliability without compromise. The system operates across a 138 MHz tuning range, supporting up to 11 simultaneous systems in 6 MHz TV bands or 14 in 8 MHz bands – critical for multi-artist setups and venue flexibility.

Two SLXD2+/58 handheld transmitters pair with a SLXD4D+ dual-channel receiver, each transmitter powered by two AA batteries (or optional Shure SB903 Li-ion packs) for up to 8 hours of stage time. AES-256 encryption secures every signal end-to-end. The Shure Digital Feedback Reducer automatically suppresses unwanted feedback in real time. Wireless Workbench software – available on desktop or via the mobile app over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth – handles frequency coordination, transmitter firmware updates, RF monitoring and remote parameter control. Automatic linking keeps receivers and transmitters connected despite RF interference, while quick frequency changes and power adjustments occur without powering down.

The SM58® capsule is known for its forgiving cardioid pattern and resilience on stage; paired here with digital transmission, it suits vocal work, acoustic instruments and spoken word equally well. Included accessories comprise two microphone clips, two quarter-wave antennas, a rackmount kit and carrying pouches, making this system road-ready from the box. Australian musicians will appreciate the combination of Shure's proven microphone lineage with modern digital architecture that eliminates analogue wireless compromises.

What's New with Shure SLX-D+ (PLUS) Compared to SLX-D?

Expanded Frequency Coverage – One Band, More Cities!

The Australian H58 band (520–606 MHz) provides an 86 MHz tuning range, bringing the former H57 and J54 frequency ranges together in one wider band.

For touring musicians, churches, production companies and AV professionals travelling between cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Darwin, this wider range offers greater flexibility when coordinating wireless frequencies with a single H58 band version.

Check frequency availability for your location:
Jands Wireless Frequency Calculator

Usable frequencies vary by location, local TV services and RF conditions. Check each venue before use; the full tuning range will not be available everywhere.

Other Key Improvements

  • ShowLink® Ease – Remote transmitter control and automatic frequency changes to help manage interference.
  • Digital Feedback Reduction (DFR) – Built into SLX-D+ receivers to help reduce unwanted feedback.
  • AES-256 Encryption – Protects wireless audio transmission when enabled.
  • Bluetooth Connectivity – Monitor and manage your system through a compatible receiver using Shure Wireless Workbench Mobile.
  • Lower Latency – Reduced from 3.2 ms on SLX-D to 2.8 ms on SLX-D+.

SLX-D+ also retains the transparent 24-bit digital audio of the original SLX-D platform.

These are SLX-D+ system capabilities. Receiver-based functions require a compatible SLX-D+ receiver. Full ShowLink Ease functionality requires compatible SLX-D+ transmitters and receivers.

Will the New SLX-D+ H58 Work with Existing H57 and J54 Units?

Yes. Australian SLX-D+ H58 components are compatible with original SLX-D H57 and J54 equipment, allowing you to upgrade gradually. Update all devices to the latest compatible firmware before pairing.

  • Existing H57 or J54 transmitter + new H58 receiver: Select the matching band under Device Configuration > RF > RF Band, then IR-sync. All channels on that receiver use the selected band; H57 and J54 transmitters need separate receivers for simultaneous use.
  • New H58 transmitter + existing H57 or J54 receiver: IR-sync within the receiver's supported frequency range.
  • Complete old and new systems together: Coordinate compatible frequencies across every active channel, with one active transmitter per receiver channel.

Mixed-generation links do not provide ShowLink® Ease. AES-256 encryption requires SLX-D+ equipment at both ends, and legacy receivers do not gain SLX-D+ feedback reduction. Full functionality requires compatible SLX-D+ transmitters and receivers.

See the official Shure compatibility guide for setup details.
