The Kyser Drop-D is a partial capo that leaves the lowest string open while raising the other strings. It creates the useful low-to-high relationship of a dropped tuning without asking you to retune the guitar, opening up fuller bass notes and new chord textures.
At the second fret, a familiar D-shaped chord sounds as E while the open low E string remains available underneath it. The Quick-Change trigger makes the black capo easy to apply and remove as you move between songs or experiment with arrangements. It is a practical tool for exploring drone notes and alternative voicings.
