The Rodenberg SL-OD Deluxe REDLINE is the official Steve Lukather Signature drive pedal, developed through the long-standing collaboration between Steve Lukather and German pedal designer Uli Rodenberg. Combining three fully independent gain stages—Overdrive, Distortion and Boost—it delivers a complete multi-stage drive system in a single, road-ready enclosure. 

At its heart is a highly flexible Low/High Gain Overdrive section capable of everything from responsive edge-of-breakup tones through to saturated lead sounds. Dedicated Drive, Tone and Level controls provide straightforward shaping, while the FAT preset adds extra body and the GAIN switch pushes the circuit into higher-gain territory. Alongside it, the independent Distortion section offers its own Drive, Tone and Level controls, plus a TIGHT mode designed to tighten the low end for a faster, more focused response. 

The third section is a dedicated Boost, featuring independent Level and Tone controls, FAT mode and a selectable +20 dB boost. A PRE/POST switch allows the boost to be positioned either before the drive circuits—pushing the Overdrive and Distortion harder—or after them for additional output level and presence. This makes the SL-OD Deluxe particularly adaptable for live rigs where one pedal may need to cover rhythm, higher-gain and solo-level duties. 

Rodenberg’s LOCKED mode provides another layer of live flexibility by linking the Overdrive and Distortion sections so you can switch directly between the two sounds rather than having to disengage one before activating the other. The REDLINE also uses soft-touch mechanical True Bypass switching designed for extremely low switching noise. 

Handmade in Germany in small production runs, the SL-OD Deluxe REDLINE operates from 9–18V DC, allowing higher-voltage operation for increased headroom. For players looking for a premium analogue drive platform capable of covering boost, overdrive and distortion without filling an entire pedalboard, the SL-OD Deluxe REDLINE offers a remarkably comprehensive solution.
