Ernie Ball Group 2.5 Stainless Steel Flatwound Electric Bass Strings use a 45–105 gauge combination. These stainless steel flatwound bass strings offer a smooth surface and a mellow tonal character. Their flat winding provides a different feel from a textured roundwound set while keeping the bass voice rounded and controlled.
Flat stainless steel wire is wrapped around tin-plated hexagonal steel cores. This set’s gauge combination determines the relative weight of the four strings, giving you a clearly specified option for a traditional flatwound bass response.
