Ernie Ball Group 1 Stainless Steel Flatwound Short Scale Electric Bass Strings use a 50–110 gauge combination. These stainless steel flatwound bass strings offer a smooth surface and a mellow tonal character. Their flat winding provides a different feel from a textured roundwound set while keeping the bass voice rounded and controlled.
Flat stainless steel wire wraps around tin-plated hexagonal steel cores. Designed for 30–30.5-inch scale basses, these strings measure 48 inches overall with a taper at 32.5 inches, so the intended scale and winding length can be checked against your instrument.
