High-end hardware and electronics

The hardware and electronics configuration of the Marcus Miller Z3 bass guitars, which includes Standard MM pickups, bridge and open gear tuners, provides a wider range and more defined sound design. You get the feel and sound quality usually found in higher bass guitar tiers.

Signature Heritage-3 preamp

Installed throughout the Z3 range of bass guitars, the Marcus Miller Heritage-3 (no mid-frequency) is an active 3-band preamp for shaping a clean audio balance from the instrument. This preamp provides access to a host of different tones, from classic to contemporary.

Sire Z-Bass body

All Marcus Miller Z3 bass models feature the new Sire Z body shape, with a rounded forearm contour that was inspired by the defined lower cutaway of iconic bass guitars from the 1970s. Crafted from Mahogany, the Z3 is sure to complement the look and sound requirements of both traditional and modern players.

Everything the reviews said, but better!

Came across a second hand Sire instrument for my son and loved the tone, and wanted one for myself! But, with no nearby stores to try the new ones I did my research online and decided these were just such great value on the spec of that it was worth taking a chance. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. The playability, tone and feel is just amazing. Some of the reviews are critical of head weight so I can only assume they’ve changed the tuners to more lightweight ones as I have only good things to say about the weight and balance of the instrument. And the sparkle finish is Awesome! I get compliments about it whenever I take it out of the bag. Zero regrets!

Great bass

The Sire Z3 is a great bass especially for the price, this bass plays as well if not better than my more expensive bass guitars. This is my second Sire from Gsus4 and like my first purchase this bass was set up perfectly when I received it. Thanks again Gsus4 I am a very happy customer.

All perfect except for one detail

My new Marcus Miller Z3 exceeds my expectations in respect of sound and ease of playing. I would have given Gsus4 a score of 5 but the low B string sounds a bit like it’s running through a mild chorus effect. When I called the consultant suggested I raise the action slightly but this didn’t help. I am considering buying a new set of strings to check if the problem is in the string manufacture.

Got it on time. Beautiful bass guitar!

Shipping was good but I wish the parcel tracking was better. One beautiful bass and very good sounding one. High end finish and it came great out of the box with very small set-up to be done. I would highly recommend!

Definition of bang for buck

I've owned plenty of Musicman Stingrays in the past and this certainly does do that sound and feel well. The high quality components and out of the box setup are amazing. The satin neck makes a huge difference and really sets this apart as a high quality instrument, despite being an entry model for the Z series. Plus, it really does look much better in person (black sparkle) than in photos.

I was very surprised by the high quality of the soft case as well. Would easily recommend this bass to anyone interested
